Mini bio
How it started.
Darren Watkins Jr. grew up in Cincinnati and registered the IShowSpeed YouTube channel in 2016. Early uploads were gaming videos. During the 2020 lockdowns, streaming became a daily commitment, with games such as NBA 2K and Fortnite helping build a community.
The breakout.
In 2021, clips of Speed’s loud, physical reactions spread beyond the livestreams. Football became a central thread too, especially their admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo. Music offered another way to share that enthusiasm, including the 2022 single “World Cup.”
Taking fans along.
The channel grew beyond gaming into trips, fan encounters and sporting challenges. “Speed Goes Pro” put Speed alongside professional athletes, while the Africa and Caribbean travel films gathered whole journeys into longer videos. In July 2026, Speed performed “World Cup (Champions)” at the World Cup closing ceremony.
