POV BeautyHow it started.
Mikayla is a self-taught makeup artist from Massachusetts. They worked at Ulta before building a following online, and began posting on TikTok in March 2020.
Finding an audience.
An early tutorial showing how to cover acne went viral. Makeup demonstrations, product reviews and a recognizable Boston accent became central to their videos. Mikayla told Glamour they reached a million followers in August 2020.
Making something of their own.
After collaborating with e.l.f. on the Marriage Material Lip Duo in 2023, Mikayla co-founded POV Beauty with beauty executive Ani Hadjinian. The brand began with skin prep in March 2025 and reached Sephora in September 2026.
