TheEllenShowHow it started.
Raised in Orange County, Nava grew up around sewing as a third-generation seamstress. Her YouTube journey began in 2013. Altering thrift finds that did not fit became a way to make clothes her own.
Finding her audience.
Nava began posting on TikTok in August 2019. A standout project turned a fake Louis Vuitton bag into a top and skirt, which she wore to a Vuitton store. Outfit transitions and DIY projects helped introduce her work to a wider audience.
Making more from what exists.
In 2023 she partnered with thredUP on The Dump Fast Fashion Shop, creating three secondhand looks. In 2024 she attended an AANHPI Heritage Month celebration at the White House in a suit dress made with secondhand and recycled materials.
The next chapter.
In October 2026, Nava told Cero about Nanaii, her label still in pre-production. Its name refers to nanay, the Tagalog word for mother, and honors her family’s sewing tradition.
