Rhett and Link met in first grade in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Their official origin story starts with a missed recess: Ms. Locklear kept them inside for writing profanity on their desks and had them color mythical beasts. Making things together became a friendship that lasted well beyond school.
An unexpected route.
Both studied engineering at NC State. Rhett earned a civil engineering degree in 2000, and Link finished industrial engineering in 2001. They worked as engineers before pursuing entertainment. In 2006, after seeing other people upload their website videos to YouTube and attract more viewers, they started their own channel.
Finding their audience.
Comedy songs, sketches and deliberately low-budget local commercials helped introduce them to viewers, including the Chuck Testa commercial and their nerd-versus-geek rap battle. In 2012, they launched Good Mythical Morning. Food experiments, games and their back-and-forth friendship became the heart of the show, which reached 3,000 episodes in March 2026.
Beyond the desk.
Their work also includes the conversational podcast Ear Biscuits, the Book of Mythicality and the small-town suspense novel The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek. Wonderhole takes their comedy into filmed adventures with sketches and original music. In 2026, they added the picture book Spaghetti Head & Chicken Fingers, illustrated by Erica Salcedo, while Good Mythical Morning began streaming on Netflix alongside YouTube.
