Mini bio
How it started.
Michael Grzesiek built a competitive CS:GO career through teams including Exertus and Manajuma, then became a stand-in for compLexity. When Cloud9 acquired that roster in August 2014, Shroud joined the team that would bring a wider audience to their play.
From the server to the stream.
With Cloud9, Shroud helped win ESL Pro League Season 4 in 2016. A move off the starting roster in 2017 opened the way to full-time streaming; Shroud formally retired from professional CS:GO and left Cloud9 in April 2018. There was another competitive chapter in 2022, playing VALORANT for Sentinels.
Making things with other teams.
Shroud’s work extends to gaming hardware and game design. Logitech released a creator collaboration in 2020, and MAINGEAR announced Shroud as a co-owner and advisor in 2022. Shroud also served as lead gameplay advisor on Mountaintop’s Spectre Divide, which later shut down in 2025.
Playing for a cause.
The 2025 Fragathon honored Shroud’s late father and raised more than $1 million for St. Jude. In-game kills, community contributions and guest collaborations made the fundraiser a shared project for Shroud and the people watching.
