Mini bio

How it started.

Bear spent three years serving with 21 SAS Regiment. A freefall parachuting accident broke his back in three places, but after recovering he climbed Everest at 23. His autobiography, Mud, Sweat and Tears, tells the story of those early tests.

The breakout.

Man vs. Wild premiered in 2006 and made survival television his calling card. Running Wild followed in 2014, taking celebrity guests into remote landscapes. His work now spans television, books and videos, with recent projects including Celebrity Bear Hunt and Wild Reckoning.

Beyond the expeditions.

In 2009, Bear became the UK’s youngest Chief Scout at 34. He served until 2024 and has also represented World Scouting as its Chief Ambassador.
