Mini bio

How it started.

Brent grew up in Columbia, Maryland, and began making music around age 12 or 13. In an early Westwood Westwood interview, Brent recalled learning to turn singing into songs and connecting with a manager through SoundCloud. Rapping helped shape the way Brent wrote R&B.

The voice on “Crew.”

The hook on GoldLink’s 2016 single “Crew,” alongside Shy Glizzy, brought wider attention and a 2018 Grammy nomination. Brent also co-founded Sonder with producers Dpat and Atu. The solo debut Sonder Son followed in 2017, drawing on childhood memories and the move to Los Angeles.

Building independently.

Brent and manager Ty Baisden co-founded Lost Kids in 2015. F**k the World reached No. 20 on the Billboard 200 in 2020, and WASTELAND debuted at No. 2 in 2022. A 2023 UnitedMasters partnership helped launch ISO Supremacy, followed by Larger Than Life. In 2026, Brent released Icon and expanded it through Director’s Cut editions.
