Mini bio
How it started.
Calvin grew up hiking, climbing and exploring caves. His nephew Jacob became a regular companion, gradually gaining the confidence to lead the way underground, as they described in a 2021 Brut feature carried by 20 Minutes.
Finding an audience.
Their family’s occasional cave visits became an obsession during the pandemic; their tight-squeeze videos went viral.
What drives the channel.
Calvin frames the adventures around humility, courage and individual responsibility. Alongside the main channel, Even Darker offers more personal, less polished caving footage and behind-the-scenes detail.
A family project.
The Patreon page says its proceeds go toward Jacob’s college fund. By June 2025, the main channel was celebrating his completed freshman year while reporting that a crawl-cave mapping project remained unfinished after at least a dozen trips.
