Mini bio
How it started.
Cradle of Filth formed in Ipswich in 1991. Their early demos led to The Principle of Evil Made Flesh in 1994. With Dani Filth at the microphone, they built a sound where extreme metal meets gothic horror and elaborate storytelling.
Finding their audience.
Dusk... and Her Embrace and Cruelty and the Beast helped the band reach beyond the underground. Midian followed in 2000, with “Her Ghost in the Fog” becoming a signature song through its music video and MTV exposure. “Nymphetamine” later earned a 2005 Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance.
The next chapter.
The band released their 14th studio album, The Screaming of the Valkyries, in March 2025 through Napalm Records. Their 2026 touring and reissue announcements have also revisited Dusk... and Her Embrace as it reaches its 30th anniversary.
