Mini bio

How it started.

Dan grew up in Chișinău and received a second-hand accordion at 11. He attended music school, briefly studied law and played in the metal band Inferialis before turning toward pop.

The O-Zone years.

In 1999, Dan helped establish O-Zone, taking a central role in its songwriting and production. “Despre Tine” and “Dragostea din tei” carried the group beyond Moldova. The latter reached No. 3 in the UK and became the song many listeners know as “Numa Numa”.

Finding different voices.

After O-Zone, Dan worked on solo material in Los Angeles with producer Jack Joseph Puig. His next chapters included the falsetto-driven Crazy Loop persona and the solo dance single “Chica Bomb”, whose video was directed by Hype Williams.

Songs that return.

His 2024 official version of “Oriunde Ai Fi” revisited a song he says he composed in 1995. In 2025 and 2026, Soundstalgic brought his catalogue into a theatrical concert built around nostalgia, with shows in Bucharest and Chișinău.
