Mini bio

How it started.

Drew grew up in Scottsdale and studied economics and entrepreneurship at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. A semester in Prague in 2012 turned travel into a career ambition. After college, he taught English in South Korea and built a travel blog called The Hungry Partier, later rebranding it as Drew Binsky.

The camera changed things.

In an interview with On Wisconsin, Drew recalled Deanna Sallao giving him a camera in Hanoi on New Year’s Day 2017. His early Vietnam video found an audience, but he called his April 2017 North Korea film the biggest turning point: it reached 10 million views.

Beyond the checklist.

Drew reached Saudi Arabia on October 29, 2021, completing his goal of visiting all 197 countries on his list. His focus then shifted toward choosing stories about people and culture. Just Go, published in May 2024, shares travel stories and practical advice; his documentaries also reached Netflix in 2026.
