Mini bio
How it started.
Lee Sang-hyeok began playing League of Legends when it arrived in South Korea in 2011. In 2013, Faker entered professional play with SK Telecom T1, the organization now known as T1. Their debut against CJ Entus Blaze included a solo kill on Ambition, an early glimpse of the mid-lane play fans would follow for years.
The breakout.
The 2013 Zed duel against KT Bullets’ Ryu became one of Faker’s signature moments. That same year brought a first world championship. Further titles in 2015 and 2016 established a career that would later include another three consecutive Worlds wins in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Beyond the match.
Fans can also follow Faker through gameplay videos on the official T1 Faker YouTube channel. Riot made Faker the first Hall of Legends inductee in 2024 and released a documentary about the career. T1 Rose Together follows the team’s journey from its 2022 Worlds final loss to its 2023 victory.
