Mini bio
How it started.
Katey grew up in Fort Worth and studied public relations. In an interview with Tracy Moore, she recalled finding comfort in British skincare blogs while seeking answers about lupus as a teenager. Later, she worked at a lifestyle PR agency by day and wrote her own blog at night.
A hobby becomes her work.
She founded Chronicles of Frivolity with her best friend in 2013. Its early fashion finds grew into a place for product recommendations and conversations about beauty, home and motherhood. Her About page describes a promise to recommend only things she stands behind.
From collecting to designing.
In September 2023, Katey launched a berry bowl, bud vase and spoon rest with MacKenzie-Childs. It was the brand’s first limited-edition ceramic collection created with an outside collaborator. She developed the designs with her graphic designer sister, drawing on her children and memories of her mother and grandmothers.
What she shares now.
Her recent work brings together home decorating, beauty routines and reflections on raising three children. Alongside Instagram reels, she still writes longer blog posts, including a reader-led discussion of family culture and a guide to embracing her natural hair.
