Mini bio
How it started.
Will Gold and Joe Goldsmith had played in a folk band before writing Lovejoy’s first EP in Gold’s basement during lockdown. They brought in bassist Ash Kabosu and drummer Mark Boardman, forming the four-piece in 2021. Gold also had an audience from his work online as Wilbur Soot.
Finding their audience.
Are You Alright? and Pebble Brain introduced the band in 2021. Their growing online audience became a live following, with sold-out tours across the UK, Europe and North America. In 2023, Call Me What You Like became their first UK Top 40 single.
The next records.
The band followed their early EPs with the 11-song debut album One Simple Trick on October 3, 2025. Second to One followed on July 31, 2026, with four tracks including Alphabet (Wasted Summer) and Snake Oil.
