Mini bio

How it started.

Matthew Haag grew up in Palos Hills, Illinois. Before Call of Duty became a career, Haag played Halo 2 and Gears of War competitively, then made a professional Call of Duty debut in 2008. Early on, gaming shared time with a job at McDonald’s.

The OpTic years.

The 2011 Call of Duty XP win with OpTic Gaming was a turning point. In the personal essay “The Juice,” Haag recalls calling home to share the news. An X Games gold medal and The Game Awards’ esports player award followed in 2014. Haag stepped away from professional competition in April 2015 and focused on creating content.

Building something of their own.

Haag founded 100 Thieves, bringing competitive gaming, entertainment and apparel together. In 2018, “The Juice” introduced Drake and Scooter Braun as new investors and explained how family and friendships shaped the project. Today, fans can follow Nadeshot through gaming uploads, livestreams, golf challenges and updates about LA Thieves.
