Mini bio
How it started.
Ryan Letourneau created the Northernlion YouTube channel in 2006 and began posting full-time in 2011. The Binding of Isaac became an early calling card. The first episode, uploaded on September 28, 2011, introduced the game through a blind first-impressions run.
A show to settle into.
The Northernlion Live Super Show ran from 2013 to 2021, mixing games and conversation with recurring co-hosts. One November 2013 episode moved through Dark Souls, Family Feud, Guess Who, trivia and Spelunky, with Josh and Nick credited in the description.
Still finding the next game.
The channel now moves between solo runs, multiplayer sessions and shorter clips. Recent uploads include Slay the Spire 2 and Tape to Tape. In 2026, Letourneau also joined offbrand games to help fund and publish Demon Bluff, extending a career spent introducing viewers to indie games.
