Mini bio

How it started.

Rahim’s early recordings came with very little money behind them. In a 2019 ARY interview, he recalled funding his first music video in 1997 and dreaming that a released song might open the door to travel abroad. “Pehle Toh Kabhi Kabhi Ghum Tha” brought him recognition in Pakistan and across the border in 1999.

Songs that stay close.

His work moves between Pashto, Urdu and Punjabi, with “Ghum” and “Jhoola” among the songs fans return to. In his 2022 MM News interview, he described singing as a path he pursued despite his father’s initial opposition. He also spoke about performing with his band, Chand Tara.

A voice for film.

For Moor, Rahim sang “Gul Bashri.” In an interview about the soundtrack, Bilal Maqsood explained that Rahim brought the folk melody to Strings, who slowed and reshaped it for a scene of grief. The performance earned Rahim a 2016 Lux Style Awards nomination for Best Singer (Male) in film.

What he shares now.

His official channel carries new music, performances and videos about Safaid Posh Ghar. Recent collaborations include “Zanjeer” with Shaz Khan and “Ik Naya Ghar Humai Mil Gaya,” written by Anwar Maqsood and composed by Arshad Mehmood.
