Mini bio

From the hills.

Mayank Rawat makes music as Rap ID and Bawa Pahadi. His official video for “Bawa Pahadi Hai,” released in February 2016, introduces him as a rapper from Solan and credits him and producer KATTO as members of the Evillusion hip-hop crew. In 2019, he released the five-track In Pahadon Mein EP.

A voice for social questions.

In a 2020 interview about “Majdoor,” he traced his interest in socially engaged rap to discovering Immortal Technique. He described building the song around a story, factual material and reflection. “Kattarwaad,” released that March, became one of his most widely watched videos, with more than six million views on the official upload.

A bigger stage.

His 2023 MTV Hustle 03 Represent performances included “India Wale,” a Hindi rap celebration of cricket, which he wrote, performed and co-composed. His later catalogue includes “W” with GAUSH and the caste discrimination video “AARAKSHAN (KATTARWAAD 2.0).” By September 2026, Legacy releases including “For The Books” carried the Bawa Pahadi name.
