Mini bio

How it started.

Rumi’s poetry caught Rupert’s attention at fifteen. He went on to study with Dr. Francis Roles at Colet House in London, learning mantra meditation and exploring Advaita. In parallel, a Michael Cardew exhibition drew him towards pottery; he trained with Henry Hammond and later worked with Cardew in Cornwall.

Two creative paths.

For decades, he made ceramics, including vessels carrying poetry incised or embossed into their surfaces. His work entered museum collections, including the Fitzwilliam Museum. His meeting with Francis Lucille in the 1990s became a turning point in his spiritual exploration.

Sharing the understanding.

The Transparency of Things appeared in 2008. Books, recorded dialogues and guided meditations became ways for him to share non-duality with a wider audience. Today he offers retreats and online meetings, alongside a podcast and his Substack, The Transparency of Things. His teaching invites people to examine their own experience of awareness and happiness.
