Mini bio
How it started.
Sejal grew up in a musical family in Delhi and wanted to sing, dance and act. After attending auditions as a teenager, they found a way to make and share their own work through YouTube. Sejal dates that start to September 2014 and recalls filming between classes during their second year at Shri Ram College of Commerce.
Finding an audience.
DIY fashion and glimpses of young adulthood helped Sejal build their audience. Acting brought another outlet: in 2018, they played Kiara in Engineering Girls alongside Barkha Singh and Kritika Avasthi. Sejal later began directing the short fictional stories of #1MinDrama.
Making original music.
In 2020, Sejal released their first original song, Aisi Hun, for YouTube’s Creators for Change movement around girls’ education with Michelle Obama. Sejal developed the concept and co-wrote the lyrics with Saptak Chatterjee. Its story focuses on communication between a girl and her parents.
A wider creative world.
Original music has grown into another part of Sejal’s storytelling, from the English album shy to the 2025 EP Finding Joy and 2026’s Project 30. Alongside songs and self-directed videos, Sejal has built scripted series through Finding Joy Pictures, including Wedding Re-Planners, about two sisters turning weddings into a business.
