Mini bio

How it started.

Before the tours, Matthew Hauri was a marketing student in Madison making music and sharing it on SoundCloud. He initially kept his face out of his artwork. The Mr. Clean video, filmed around Madison in 2017, introduced fans to the person behind the voice. He signed with Republic that November and finished his marketing degree in December.

The Gravy sound.

His songs pair trap beats with older soul, funk and pop references, delivered with playful punchlines and a low voice. Mr. Clean draws on the Chordettes’ Mr. Sandman. Betty (Get Money) reworks Never Gonna Give You Up and took him into the Billboard Hot 100’s top 30 in 2022.

Music with friends.

Sensational and Gasanova established his solo album catalog, while his partnership with bbno$ grew into the Baby Gravy projects. Baby Gravy 3 arrived in 2023. Serving Country followed in 2024, taking his music toward country with guests including Shania Twain and Zac Brown.

The next chapter.

Recent work includes a Dog Man soundtrack single, a voice role in Dispatch and new music including Debbie, HBO and BAEWATCH. In April 2026, he signed a global recordings deal with BMG for a new studio album.
