Mini bio
How it started.
Adam grew up in San Diego and found a place onstage through children’s musical theatre. An early role was Linus in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Professional theatre followed, including ensemble work and understudying Fiyero in Wicked’s touring and Los Angeles companies.
The breakout.
Finishing second on American Idol in 2009 brought Adam to a much wider audience. The debut album For Your Entertainment followed that year, and “Whataya Want From Me” earned a 2011 Grammy nomination. With Trespassing in 2012, Adam became the first openly gay male artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Two musical worlds.
Adam first shared a stage with Brian May and Roger Taylor on the 2009 American Idol finale. That meeting grew into Queen + Adam Lambert, bringing Queen’s songs to concert audiences around the world. Alongside that partnership, Adam has continued releasing solo music, from The Original High to the club-focused AFTERS EP and 2026’s ADAM.
Back to theatre.
Cabaret brought Adam to Broadway as the Emcee in 2024, followed by Judas in the Hollywood Bowl’s Jesus Christ Superstar in 2025. Away from the stage, Adam founded the Feel Something Foundation to support LGBTQ+ human rights.
