Mini bio

How it started.

Adam grew up around climbing and wanted to follow his parents onto the rock. He began at about three and climbed his first 9a at 13. In 2009, aged 16, he won the overall Lead World Cup and took silver at the senior Lead World Championships.

On the rock.

His first ascent of Change in 2012 introduced the 9b+ grade. In 2016 he made the second ascent of Yosemite’s Dawn Wall, leading every pitch over eight days. The following year he climbed Silence in Norway and proposed 9c, opening a new level of difficulty.

In competition.

In 2014 he won the bouldering and lead world titles in the same year. He later reached the Olympic finals in both Tokyo and Paris, finishing sixth at each Games.

Sharing the process.

His videos take fans into outdoor projects, training sessions, and collaborations. Tips & Tricks turns his experience into lessons on technique and tactics. He also wrote the AO Photo Book, while the documentary Adam Ondra: Pushing the Limits follows the pressures around his Olympic ambitions.
