Mini bio
How it started.
Alice Phoebe Lou grew up in South Africa and first earned travel money performing with fire in Europe. After finishing school in Cape Town, she returned to Europe and found her way into music on Berlin’s streets. Busking gave her a way to support herself and learn directly from the people stopping to listen.
Finding her listeners.
Her TEDxBerlin performance in 2014 helped her music travel beyond the city. She released her debut album Orbit in 2016, followed by Paper Castles in 2019. “She” also reached listeners through Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story, which included the song in its soundtrack.
Following the songs.
Glow and Child’s Play both arrived in 2021, followed by Shelter in 2023. Alongside her solo work, she makes music with Ziv Yamin as Strongboi. That partnership gives her another space to explore sounds and ideas.
Opening the notebooks.
For Oblivion in 2025, she revisited personal songs accumulated over roughly a decade. She recorded live to tape with Ziv Yamin and Dekel Adin, leaving small imperfections in the performances. The album puts her voice, guitar and piano at the centre, with Alice taking the producer’s role.
