How it started.
Ashley grew up in a small Texas town, graduated high school in three years and studied architecture and business management at UTA. After moving to Austin, she worked at an architecture firm while building a wardrobe-styling portfolio through unpaid jobs. Her 2015 essay “My Styled Life” marked five years of DTK Styling LLC.
Finding her own outlet.
Commercial styling brought work on advertising sets, while blogging gave Ashley room to express her own taste. She described rebuilding her fashion blog around 2014. By her February 2016 Fashion Mingle interview, she was balancing styling jobs with a blog and an Instagram audience of 47,000.
Beyond the outfit posts.
Her work includes wardrobe sourcing and art-department and props responsibilities for the Austin portion of Serenity, described in her 2018 retrospective. She also appeared with Grayson on the December 2018 cover of Texas Highways. On Dressed to Kill, fans can find outfit edits alongside nail designs, dog stories, home projects and car reviews.
