How it started.
Avani grew up in Indiana and trained as a competitive gymnast before a back injury ended that path. Makeup became another way to express herself. Her publisher describes her as a self-taught makeup artist, and her memoir traces the life behind the videos.
The Clown Girl breakout.
Her 2019 ClownCheck videos brought theatrical makeup and character skits together. They made “Clown Girl” a name fans recognized and helped her win the TikToker category at the 12th Annual Shorty Awards. She was also one of the original Hype House creators.
Beyond the makeup chair.
Avani played Gemma in Chicken Girls and hosted Here for It with Avani Gregg, a conversation series available through Messenger and Instagram. In 2021 she released her Morphe collection and Backstory, a memoir covering gymnastics, mental health, bullying and life online.
What she’s building now.
Recent work brings fashion, travel and acting together. She has discussed her clothing line in Modeliste, shared a Coachella vlog on YouTube and played Finca in Spider Island. Cornerstone also lists her in the cast of the survival thriller Breathe Deep.
