Mini bio

How it started.

Jordan began making videos as a high school senior in 2010 because he wanted to share his Call of Duty scores. He launched the CaptainSparklez channel that July. At university he studied chemical engineering and tried to switch to computer science, before leaving to pursue a growing YouTube career. By December 2011, it was his full-time job.

Songs fans grew up with.

Minecraft became the heart of the channel. Working with singer TryHardNinja and other collaborators, Jordan made TNT and Revenge in 2011, then Fallen Kingdom in 2012. The credits show how hands-on he was: visuals, lyrics and instrumental work on TNT; animation and rap vocals on Revenge; writing and directing on Fallen Kingdom. Take Back the Night continued the story in 2013.

Beyond the uploads.

Jordan also co-founded game studio Xreal with Howard Marks and helped launch Fortress Fury in 2015. He voiced his own character in Minecraft: Story Mode. More recently, his uploads have included Hytale gameplay, Japan vlogs with KaraCorvus and updates about Fable Fury alongside the familiar Minecraft music videos.
