Mini bio

How it started.

Raised in Grayland, Washington, Colin got his broadcasting start at Eastern Washington University. His early work included calling games for the Las Vegas Stars baseball team and sports television jobs in Las Vegas, Tampa and Portland. A morning show at Portland’s KFXX helped take him toward a national radio career.

Finding The Herd.

The Herd brought his sports opinions and storytelling to ESPN Radio’s national audience. He also became an original co-host of SportsNation and hosted Colin’s New Football Show. In September 2015, he moved The Herd to FOX Sports and Premiere Networks, taking the show across television, radio and digital platforms.

Building beyond the microphone.

His first book, You Herd Me!, became a New York Times bestseller in 2013, followed by Raw in 2015. In February 2021, he launched The Volume with iHeartRadio and a slate of five podcasts, including his own. By 2025, The Herd had reached 400 radio affiliates, and Colin had earned both a Marconi Award and a place in the Radio Hall of Fame.
