Mini bio
How it started.
Dr Zeus grew up in Birmingham loving music and football. Their father provided £4,000 for production equipment, and bedroom music-making led to a record-label signing. The official biography tells this story on the Dr Zeus Worldwide website.
The breakthrough.
The 2003 album Unda Da Influence brought “Kangna,” mixing Punjabi folk with garage and hip-hop. “Don’t Be Shy” with Rouge and “Jugni Ji” with Kanika Kapoor followed, connecting Punjabi music with club audiences.
Across borders.
For “Woofer,” Dr Zeus built the beat around Zora Randhawa’s vocal before bringing in Snoop Dogg and Nargis Fakhri. In a 2017 BollywoodMDB interview, they described a goal of taking Indian languages and culture to audiences beyond India.
Still listening.
In a 2025 GQ interview, Dr Zeus described checking local radio while travelling to hear new sounds. Alongside collaborations with established Punjabi artists, the official site highlights work with newer names including Watan Sahi and Jind Dhillon.
