Freya wanted to work in fashion but had no fashion qualifications or industry background. After ten years waitressing, she began sharing her outfits on Instagram. In her 2021 New Look interview, she described that route into content creation and credited her dad, who photographed her posts.

Her mix of high-street clothes and designer pieces became a signature. By December 2021, New Look was featuring her own edit and reporting 580,000 Instagram followers. An accessories edit with Katie Loxton followed, with everyday bags and travel styles, and she returned for a second, autumn edit.
