Mini bio

How it started.

From Munjai in Lower Dir, Hamayoon Khan built a career in Pashto music. He told The Express Tribune in 2010 that he had been working formally as a musician since 2004. Before concentrating on writing, singing and producing music, he had worked in the corporate sector and as a programmer for ATV Khyber.

A wider stage.

Coke Studio season 5 brought him to a broader audience in 2012 through “Larsha Pekhawar Ta” and “Tora Bahraam Khaana.” His version of “Larsha Pekhawar Ta” gave an old Pashto folk tune a contemporary treatment, something he defended in his Express Tribune interview as part of the show’s approach.

Poetry, celebration and his own studio.

His channel moves between poetry settings, ghazals, wedding music and Attan songs. “Waya Waya Mula Jana” sets Abdul Ghani Khan’s poetry to Khan’s own music, while “Zama Da Wror De Wada” introduced his album “Aahang” in December 2024. His newer HK Productions videos often credit him across singing, composition, music and direction.

Into Urdu.

In January 2026 he shared the official video for “Ishaara Yaara,” an original Urdu song that he wrote, composed and directed. September’s “Sa Dasi Rang - Tasweer” returned to Pashto ghazal, bringing together Rehmat Shah Sayil’s lyrics, Parvez Sakhi’s composition and Khan’s music and direction.

  2. For “Waya Waya Mula Jana,” he chose Abdul Ghani Khan’s poem “Tapos Ka Jawab” from “Latoon.” The video description says the song was recorded in 2020.
  3. He introduced “Aahang” as his twelfth audio-video album in the December 2024 description of “Zama Da Wror De Wada.”
