Mini bio
How it started.
Danny Cudd and Markus Offbeat met in Goa, India. Danny was already playing Hang, while Markus initially joined him on percussion. After a season in Goa, they travelled to England and began playing Hang together on the streets, developing the musical partnership that became Hang Massive.
The video that travelled.
Their first public release, “Once Again,” arrived in 2011. Filmed on an autumn morning in Bath, the video introduced their interlocking Hang playing to listeners far beyond the street. Their official biography credits its viral spread with helping them build an international audience and move toward festivals and concert venues.
An expanding sound.
They have kept the handpan at the centre while exploring electronic production and collaboration. Luminous Emptiness arrived in 2018, followed by the Bleecker collaboration Radius in 2022 and Wisdom in the Roots in 2024. Their 2025 masterclass shares their approach to playing, and 2026 brought new live recordings, a Markandeya single and an ambient release with Danny Cudd.
