Mini bio

How it started.

Darren Jason Watkins Jr. grew up in Cincinnati and registered the IShowSpeed YouTube channel in 2016. Early uploads focused on gaming. In 2021, clips of the loud, physical reactions during those streams helped bring Speed a much wider audience.

Football became part of the story.

By 2022, Speed’s broadcasts increasingly revolved around football and a love of Cristiano Ronaldo. That November brought “World Cup,” released through Warner Records for the tournament in Qatar. The same year, Speed won the Streamy Award for Breakout Streamer.

Travel became a central part of the channel in 2024. By January 2026, Speed Does Africa was taking viewers through local food, dances and sporting challenges across a 20-country tour. The Lagos stop brought a 50-million-subscriber celebration on Speed’s 21st birthday.

More ways to meet the fans.

The work now stretches from music videos and travel streams to sports challenges and wrestling. In 2026, Speed released “World Cup (Champions),” competed at WrestleMania 42 and announced a second season of Speed Goes Pro.
