Mini bio
How it started.
Jalaiah began dancing at about three, after trying a class at her daycare. She later shared dances on Musical.ly and Instagram before returning to TikTok.
The dance that traveled.
In 2019, she created Renegade before dance practice. It spread across TikTok without her name attached. A New York Times profile in February 2020 helped establish her credit, and she went on to perform at the NBA All-Star Game.
Beyond Renegade.
She choreographed and starred in Sufjan Stevens’ “Video Game” video in 2020. TOGETHXR’s 2021 series I AM: JALAIAH followed her life as a teenager and creator, including time with family and friends. In an ESSENCE interview, she explained why credit helps creators turn their work into paid opportunities.
