Mini bio
How it started.
Janet grew up in Carrigaline, County Cork, and began Journalist On The Run while studying journalism at Dublin City University. Travel writing grew alongside an office job before freelance work and the blog made it possible to work while travelling.
Finding an audience.
An early break came when a flight-search article ranked above Skyscanner on Google. Janet contacted the company and landed freelance work. Video became another part of their travel storytelling, including a 2021 vlog about flying to Baghdad.
From followers to fellow travellers.
Janet’s Journeys grew out of followers’ interest in a 2021 Iraq trip. The company brings solo travellers together for small group adventures, with friendship and lesser-visited destinations at its heart. Janet now calls Bali home, having lived and worked on five continents.
