Mini bio

Starting in a bedroom.

Growing up in Alabama, Jessie taught themself guitar, keyboard and ukulele and began writing and recording songs at home. Covers on TikTok and YouTube brought an audience, then original songs followed. A Columbia Records deal and the debut single “Upgrade” arrived in 2021.

Finding a wider audience.

The 2023 mixtape drowning gathered that early, emotionally direct songwriting into a longer project. “Wild Ones,” the duet with Jelly Roll, became Jessie’s first US Top 40 hit. The debut studio album That Ain’t No Man That’s The Devil followed in September 2024, with collaborations including Teddy Swims and Bailey Zimmerman.

The Sex Hysteria chapter.

Released in July 2025, Sex Hysteria pairs pop and trap production with Jessie’s Southern delivery. “Blue Strips” reached No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, while Gucci Mane and Lil Baby joined the album. Jessie also launched the Worldwide Hysteria Tour before adding eight songs to a deluxe edition in November.

The next sound.

In an August 2026 interview with Perfect, Jessie described working with a live band on music inspired by the late-1960s era of Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. Soundtrack contributions in 2026 include “Criminal” for Scream 7 and “Gorgeous” for Nobody Wants This: Season 3.
