How it started.
Joanna moved to New York hoping to become a fashion photographer. Aesthetic school led her toward one-on-one work with clients instead. Her early experience included an organic day spa and a celebrity dermatologist’s office, bringing together the plant-based formulas and treatment technology that became part of her practice.

She opened her first namesake New York spa in 2006. By 2011, word of mouth and a growing celebrity clientele had helped establish her reputation. Her skincare line followed that year so clients could continue their routines at home. Julianne Moore, Rachel Brosnahan, Mindy Kaling and Sofia Coppola are among the clients named by her official site.
Sharing the ritual.
Her 2020 book Glow From Within takes her experience beyond the spa, exploring skincare routines alongside nutrition, sleep and stress. That year she also introduced the Magic Glow Wand, a home device with temperature and massage modes. Today her articles and interviews give fans a closer look at her approach to everyday care.
