Mini bio
How it started.
Joey grew up in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and began posting videos as a teenager with his friend Brittany Joyal. Early sketches and music parodies gave way to daily vlogs. In a Forbes interview, he described that shift as the point when his audience grew and he began connecting more closely with viewers.
Building his own worlds.
In 2013, he produced and starred in the crowdfunded supernatural series Storytellers. His performance as Hunter Crowley earned a 2014 Streamy Award for Actor in a Drama. He later created and hosted Escape the Night, which debuted in 2016 and brought online creators into an immersive murder mystery.
Sharing more of himself.
In 2015, Joey came out through his fantasy music video Don’t Wait and published his memoir In Real Life: My Journey to a Pixelated World. He moved into fiction with Children of Eden, a #1 New York Times bestseller that grew into a trilogy. His 2026 novel The Twelve, written with Mackenzie Lyn Marr, explores sisterhood and zodiac magic.
Where fans find him now.
His channels bring together foster animals, personal vlogs and Minecraft stories. Recent uploads follow newborn rescue puppies and adventures on Festivale SMP, while his 2025 Escape the Night return invites viewers back into the series on Tubi.
