Mini bio

How it started.

Joanna Noëlle Levesque began with childhood talent shows and singing competitions. After appearing on America’s Most Talented Kid in 2003, JoJo was approached by producer Vincent Herbert and signed to Blackground Records. The debut album followed in 2004, with “Leave (Get Out)” making JoJo the youngest solo artist to top Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 chart.

Finding a way forward.

“Too Little Too Late” followed on The High Road in 2006, but label disputes delayed the next studio album for years. JoJo eventually left Blackground, released Mad Love. in 2016, and re-recorded the first two albums in 2018 to regain control of those recordings.

More ways to tell the story.

Through Clover Music, JoJo has continued releasing music, including the 2025 EP NGL. Their work also extends to acting and writing: a Broadway debut as Satine in Moulin Rouge! The Musical in 2023, the 2024 memoir Over the Influence, and the role of Tess McGill in the 2025 world premiere of Working Girl.
