Mini bio
How it started.
Julianne grew up in Utah and moved to London at 10 to train in dance. She partnered with Mark Ballas and became an International Latin Youth Champion and Junior Blackpool World Latin Champion. After high school, she moved to Los Angeles and worked on Show Me the Money before joining the Dancing with the Stars tour.
The ballroom breakthrough.
Her first season as a Dancing with the Stars professional ended with a championship alongside Apolo Anton Ohno. She went on to win twice and later returned as a judge and host. In 2015, her work on the Elastic Heart routine earned an Emmy, shared with Derek Hough and Tessandra Chavez.
Beyond dance.
Julianne played Ariel in Footloose and starred in Rock of Ages and Safe Haven. Her debut country album arrived in 2008, and she made her Broadway debut as Dusty in POTUS in 2022. In August 2024, she and Ellen Goodlett published Everything We Never Knew, a novel about a woman discovering unusual abilities.
Movement and what comes next.
She founded KINRGY to bring together movement, mindfulness and community, and co-founded Ovation with Derek Hough and DanceOne. Alongside hosting DWTS, she has been announced as Lola in the 2027 Broadway revival of Damn Yankees.
