Mini bio

How it started.

K.Flay began writing songs and playing campus shows while studying at Stanford. What started as a break from schoolwork grew into something she wanted to build her life around. After graduating, she moved to San Francisco and kept playing shows, gradually finding her audience.

Finding her place.

Her debut album, Life as a Dog, arrived in 2014. The 2017 album Every Where Is Some Where brought “High Enough” and “Blood in the Cut” to more listeners, alongside touring with Imagine Dragons. “Blood in the Cut” earned a 2018 Grammy nomination for Best Rock Song, and the album received a Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical nomination.

Learning to listen again.

After losing hearing in her right ear, she released MONO in 2023. Single-sided deafness and tinnitus later led her to reimagine six of its songs for the quieter EP I’m Making Friends with the Silence. Her newer work includes the electronic project 2XT with Jason Suwito and the 2026 singles “Ants” and “Blood Cells.”
