Mini bio
How it started.
Born in Ukraine, Karolina began learning violin at six. Her family moved to the United States in 2015, and she began busking in Santa Monica in 2017. Street performances became the starting point for an audience far beyond the people who stopped to listen.
The song that travelled.
Her violin version of Post Malone’s “Sunflower” helped introduce her to a wider audience. When The Ellen Show featured her in May 2019, the show reported that her Third Street Promenade performance had reached 31 million views.
Classical roots.
Pop covers sit alongside classical study in Karolina’s work. Orchestra Nova LA’s November 2023 program identified her as a Colburn student of Sam Fischer and presented her first performance with a full orchestra, playing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto. She has also performed with pianist mother Ella, including a duet of Einaudi’s “Experience.”
Her own songs.
As Karolina Rose, she began sharing original music with “Advice” in 2025. Its official video credits producer Sejo Navajas and executive producers Nick and Ella Protsenko. Releases including “Shiny Webs,” “His Crime,” “Sixteen” and “Make You Stay” have followed, alongside continuing violin performances.
