How it started.
Kayleigh is from a small town in the Lake District. She studied journalism at Northumbria University, graduating in 2011, and went on to work in marketing and social media. She began Couture Girl in 2011 as a place to write about beauty, fashion and the things she loved.
Finding readers.
In a 2014 post about the pressures of blogging, she remembered expecting fewer than ten readers when she started. By then, she wrote, more than 11,000 people were reading. Her LinkedIn profile records a shortlist place for Best Established Beauty Blog at the 2013 Cosmopolitan Blog Awards.
Beauty and everyday life.
Her early work includes detailed makeup posts such as My MAC Lipstick Collection and a summer beauty guest post for A Little Obsessed. Today, @kayleighjcouture focuses on parenting and family travel alongside lifestyle content.
