Mini bio
How it started.
Kristen started Hopscotch the Globe in 2010 before a 10-month trip around the world. She wanted a place to share the journey with family and friends. Readers outside that circle began following along, and a personal travel diary grew into her work as a creator.
From travel diary to travel films.
Her official team biography credits her with filming, hosting, producing and editing Hopscotch the Globe videos. The work also took her onto television: in 2015, she described guest starring alongside George Kourounis in the Brazilian Amazon for Angry Planet’s fourth season.
Making room for a different life.
With Siya, Kristen made tiny home living part of the story. Their renovated 1976 Airstream, Luna, became a home on the road. In late 2021, they shipped it from Florida to Costa Rica and moved there themselves. The Casa Luna project followed, designing a permanent, solar-powered home around the Airstream in an eco-community.
The adventures keep changing.
Today, their videos mix family trips, practical travel advice and life in Costa Rica. Kristen also keeps sharing solo travel. Her November 2026 safety video draws on 23 years of traveling alone, including a recent trip to Cambodia.
