Mini bio
How it started.
After four years in mergers and acquisitions, Kristin left her corporate job in California and bought a one-way ticket to Bangkok. She started Be My Travel Muse in September 2012, sharing the stories, photographs and practical lessons of traveling alone.
Finding her audience.
In her account of the blog’s early years, Kristin identifies Conquering Mountains as a turning point. The guide established her expertise, and a wave of coverage from outlets including BuzzFeed and Business Insider brought new readers to her work. Her first adventure tour, released in October 2017, sold out in 11 days.
A new travel chapter.
Becoming a mother in 2022 opened another direction. She founded Parenthood Adventures in 2023 to share family itineraries and baby and toddler gear reviews. Through Muse Bespoke Escapes, she and her team also help families plan trips based on places they have tried themselves.
