Mini bio
How it started.
Laila built her career around Pashto music, beginning in 2013 and working with Peshawar’s Latoon Productions. Za Laila Yama is cited as her singing debut. Her catalogue also reaches beyond Pashto into multilingual fusion and pop.
Finding a wider audience.
Her fusion singing helped bring her wider recognition. In 2016, she received a Hunar-e-Hawwa art award from the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. That year she also travelled to Tunisia to perform alongside international artists in concerts promoting peace.
Songs with a purpose.
In 2015, she joined the singers on Amann, written by Laiq Zada Laiq in remembrance of the Army Public School tragedy. She later spoke about continuing to sing for peace while working with Fawad Khan and other musicians in Tunisia.
Duets to explore.
For a route into her recent work, try Singaar with Sahir Ali Bagga, Wah Wah with Jawid Sharif, and Yara Loy She with Zahra Elham. Her 2025 collaborations also include Baraana with Duran Etemadi and Mastana with Shazad.
