Mini bio
How it started.
Laurent grew up in Sarcelles, France, and learned to dance alongside his brother Larry without formal training. The pair drew on other breakers and taught themselves classical ballet techniques, building a shared approach to movement.
The breakthrough.
As Les Twins, they reached the final of Incroyable Talent in 2008. Their 2010 World of Dance performance in San Diego then spread on YouTube, opening their work to a much wider audience.
Battles and bigger stages.
They won the first season of NBC’s World of Dance in 2017. Laurent also kept competing as an individual: he won Juste Debout Gold in Hamburg in 2023, defeating Japan’s Soraki in the final.
Beyond the dance floor.
Work with Beyoncé and Missy Elliott led to a career spanning live shows, fashion campaigns and films. Laurent appeared in Men in Black: International and played Socrates in Cats. He and Larry also partnered with Kids Write Network to help young people express emotions through movement.
Making their own music.
The Les Twins catalogue now sits alongside the dance videos. Their 2025 releases included Toxic, a Smooth remix with La Gabi, and BREAD with T-Pain. The music offers fans another way into the brothers’ creative partnership.
