Mini bio

How it started.

Lydia began singing around eight and took private lessons from 12. Taylor Swift and Lea Salonga were early inspirations. Musical theatre training followed, including full-time study at D&B Academy of Performing Arts.

Finding an audience.

During the pandemic, she began sharing covers online, then reimagining songs and writing originals. Her YouTube audience grew around familiar characters given villainous new stories. She told LOCK that those early covers made it possible to leave her old 9-to-5 and become a full-time singer and songwriter.

Stories of her own.

With Ben Tomalin, Lydia developed original dark folk songs rooted in personal experience. For her debut EP, they narrowed roughly 30 songs to three, exploring anxiety and the patriarchy. Her 2025 single Are You Listening? channels the frustration of struggling to be heard.

Into The Woods.

Her debut album The Woods arrived on 11 October 2025. Alongside original releases, she continues character songs and collaborations, including 2026 releases with Neoni, PEGGY and John Daues.
