Mini bio
How it started.
Maddie grew up near Pittsburgh and began ballet lessons at two. At eight, she joined Lifetime’s Dance Moms with her mother and younger sister Mackenzie. Fans watched her compete across six seasons before the sisters left in 2016.
The video that traveled.
In 2014, Sia cast Maddie in Chandelier. Her dancing became central to the video, and she went on to lead Elastic Heart and Big Girls Cry. She also toured with Sia and became a judge on So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.
Finding characters.
Her screen work includes Mia in Megan Park’s The Fallout, Velma in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, Lindy in Fitting In and Ruthie in My Old Ass. Pretty Lethal brought her back to intensive dance work as Bones, a ballerina fighting to survive.
Beyond the screen.
Maddie’s writing includes the New York Times bestselling memoir The Maddie Diaries and a dance-themed fiction trilogy. Fashion and beauty are another part of her work, including her 2025 campaign for Maison Margiela Fragrances’ Replica collection.
