How it started.
Maneka grew up in Calcutta, studied filmmaking and took a journalism job before finding a path into fashion styling, as they recalled in Grazia’s 2020 interview. MissMalini reports that a celebrity styling assignment came while Maneka was a fashion journalist at the Times of India.
Building a styling career.
Work with Malaika Arora became a defining collaboration. In Vogue India’s account of Arora’s style evolution, Arora credits Maneka with encouraging more experimental choices. Maneka also styled Mahira Khan for the 2016 Lux Style Awards and Vogue Beauty Awards, discussing the research and international sourcing behind those looks with Instep.
